More conflation of SGI and Nichiren Buddhism

A travel blog, Brave New Traveler, names Soka Gakkai along with GATE and Knowledgism "three new religions with a modern twist." The article notes:

Based on Buddhism, Soka Gakkai developed from the teachings of Nichiren, a 13th century Buddhist reformer.

That's one way to explain it. Another way: They misappropriated and distorted the teachings of Nichiren to legitimize the political and business activities of their pseudo-religious prosperity cult.

Thanks goodness we have mroaks to keep an eye on the big bad SGI.

OK, who's going to tell him no one cares anymore?

Accelerate karma
Mr. Oaks, would you mind accelerating your karma so you can be over and done with past negative associations and organizations? Ah yes, I know I am asking too much. We all go at our own pace...but could you go a little faster?

Push. Feel the burn. That tingling feeling lets you know it's working.

I care
to the extent that this leads people to believe that SGI is the sum total of Nichiren Buddhism or that they represent Nichiren Buddhism as a whole.
